Founded in August 2014, Superbands started off as a small idea with the hopes of changing lives to help those who need it most.

The original idea for the project, and later the name, was sparked by a tweet posted by Michael Clifford, guitarist and singer of the Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer. We are not entirely sure if he is where the phrase originated from, but what we are certain of is that he is the one who popularized it.

Real bands save fans, real fans save bands.
— Michael Clifford, 5 Seconds of Summer

The premise behind incorporating 'super' comes from none other than Superman himself, because sometimes all we really need is someone to save us. For many, the ones that save us are bands and musicians; their music is what keeps fans going and staying strong despite how difficult life gets.
