Apple Music Revenue and Usage Statistics (2021)

In the early 2000s, the iPod and iTunes revolutionized the music business as the hardware and software pair that made singles more popular than albums and enabled consumers to store thousands of songs on a single device. ITunes is a trademark of Apple Inc. That may sound archaic now, but it was the most common way for most people to listen to music for more than a decade. With the iPod, Apple established a significant lead over all rival music players, which was bolstered even further by the introduction of the iPhone.

Instead, for half a decade, a tiny Swedish developer was allowed to expand despite the absence of any significant competitors.

A further 68 million users had freemium accounts, according to the company.

Apple’s acquisition of Beats Electronics for $3 billion was the first indication that the company was eager to experiment with music streaming.

Apple Music took off right away, garnering 11 million members in its first year, despite widespread criticism of the user interface.

Since then, Apple Music has progressively matured into a legitimate competitor to Spotify, particularly in the United States, where it is the largest music streaming service in the world.

We have gathered information and statistics about Apple Music.

Does Apple Music Have More Paying Subscribers Than Spotify?

Apple’s chief financial officer, Luca Maestri, revealed the total number of subscribers – which indicates a quarterly increase of more than 40 million accounts – during an earnings call that followed the publication of the company’s first-quarter fiscal year 2021 financial report. The Cupertino-based company generated a whopping $89.58 billion in revenue during the first quarter of 2021, an increase of more than 50% over the $58.31 billion made during the same period in the previous year. In the first three months of 2021, goods sales accounted for $72.68 billion of the total (compared to $44.97 billion in the same period in 2020), with the remaining $16.90 billion or so coming from services (compared to $13.35 billion in the same period in 2020).

As a result, Europe accounted for $22.26 billion ($14.29 billion in the first quarter of 2020), Greater China accounted for $17.33 billion ($9.46 billion in the first quarter of 2020), Japan accounted for $7.74 billion ($5.21 billion), and the rest of Asia-Pacific accounted for $7.54 billion ($3.89 billion).

Regarding the aforementioned subscribership improvement, CFO Luca Maestri specified: “During the March quarter, we added more than 40 million paid subs sequentially, and we have now reached more than 660 million paid subscriptions across the services on our platform.”

However, the 57-year-old native of Rome, Italy, did not provide specifics on how many users each Apple service (including Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, Apple Arcade, and Apple TV+) had. However, considering the large number of users across all of these services, it’s plausible that Apple Music has eclipsed Spotify in terms of subscribership. Having said that, it’s worth noting that the most recent time Apple officially announced Apple Music membership numbers looked to be in June of this year, when SVP of internet software and services Eddy Cuin stated that the music-streaming platform had garnered 60 million subscribers worldwide.

The company estimates that it added 52.5 million members, for a total of 112.5 million users, based on this growth rate (about 2.5 million new users each month, omitting the months in which the benchmarks were published).

Of course, if Apple Music did in fact nearly double the size of its subscriber base, it’s unclear why Apple has yet to announce as much. The company’s significant gains in the service space could have chiefly impacted platforms besides Apple Music, needless to say.

However, given the significant increases in paid users that subscription-based entertainment companies experienced last year – Spotify gained six million paid users in the third quarter of 2020 and another 11 million in the fourth quarter – it is reasonable to assume that Apple Music experienced significant growth as well. Apple Music, which was founded on this premise, recently expanded into 52 additional countries, including Morocco and Cameroon. Executives at Spotify said in their own financial report that they estimate the Stockholm-based platform to have between 366 million and 373 million monthly active users (MAUs) by the end of Q2 2021, and that it will have between 162-166 million premium customers.

How many users do Spotify, Apple Music and streaming services have?

When it comes to the statistics on how many people are streaming music – and how many are paying for it – it is easy to become confused and misunderstand what is being said. In one instance, we saw an article claiming that Amazon was “on track to overtake Apple Music,” based on a comparison of an Amazon statistic from January 2020 with an Apple figure that hadn’t been updated since June 2019. The headline of another report said that “Pandora has overtaken Apple for second place” in subscriber rankings, which was incorrect since it incorrectly compared Pandora’s active listeners (the vast majority of whom are not paying subscribers) to Apple’s paid subscriber count.

Spotify: 365m users / 165m subscribers

Spotify has 365 million monthly active users by the end of June 2021, with 165 million premium members and 200 million ad-supported (i.e. free) listeners, according to data from Nielsen.

Apple Music: 60m subscribers (but this is an old number)

Apple reported in June of this year that there were 60 million individuals who were paying for an Apple Music membership. It hasn’t provided an update on the statistic since then, despite the fact that it was adding almost two million net new members every month in the first half of 2019. If the growth had maintained at its current pace, Apple Music’s subscriber base might have reached 108 million by the end of June 2021.

Amazon Music: 55m customers (another old number)

When Apple released its latest quarterly earnings report in June 2019, it revealed that 60 million individuals have subscribed to Apple Music. It hasn’t provided an update on the statistic since then, despite adding about two million net new members every month in the first half of 2019. According to that estimate, Apple Music’s subscriber base might have reached 108 million by the end of June 2021 if the current trend had been maintained.

Tencent Music: 615m users / 60.9m paying users

Tencent Music operates three different music streaming services – QQ Music, Kugou, and Kuwo – and had 615 million mobile monthly active users of those services at the end of March 2021, including 60.9 million ‘paying users,’ which includes people who purchase music in addition to those who subscribe.

YouTube Music: 2bn music users / 30m subscribers

YouTube’s worldwide head of music, Lyor Cohen, said in November 2020 that more than two billion people enjoy music on YouTube every month, an increase over the previous year. The main YouTube service, rather than the YouTube Music portion, is the one that everyone is familiar with. YouTube had more over 30 million paying members across YouTube Music and YouTube Premium (the latter of which includes access to YouTube Music) as of October 2020, according to data from the company.

Pandora: 55.1m users / 6.2m subscribers

According to the financial reports of parent company SiriusXM, the streaming service Pandora had 55.1 million monthly active users at the end of June 2021 in the United States. 6.5 million of those were referred to as’self-pay’ subscribers.

SoundCloud: 175m users

According to SoundCloud’s advertising website, “we also reach more than 175 million global users each month.” This amount has stayed constant for years — we have press releases referencing it from as far back as 2014. Those who hear music embedded on other websites as well as those who visit SoundCloud’s own website and applications are included in this number.

Audiomack: 17m users

Despite the fact that Audiomack is situated in North America, this streaming service is making a strong emphasis on the continent of Africa in order to expand. By the end of February 2021, it had 17 million monthly users who were active.

Deezer: 16m users

In accordance with Deezer’s press releases, the service boasts 16 million monthly active users, a statistic that has stayed constant for quite some time now. According to Hans-Holger Albrecht, the firm’s former CEO, when we spoke with him in January 2019, the company had seven million customers at the end of 2018.

While that includes customers who had a Deezer membership included as part of their mobile phone contracts, Albrecht stated that Deezer’s income were from’self-pay’ users rather than telco bundles.

Gaana: 185m users

According to Deezer’s press releases, the service boasts 16 million monthly active users, a statistic that has been stable for some time. According to Hans-Holger Albrecht, the firm’s CEO at the time of our discussion, the company had seven million customers by the end of 2018. While that includes customers who had a Deezer membership included as part of their mobile phone contracts, Albrecht stated that Deezer’s income were from “self-pay” users rather than telco bundles.

And now some global stats…

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) issued its latest Global Music Report in March 2021, which stated that there were 443 million users of paid streaming subscriptions globally at the end of 2020, an increase from 341 million at the end of 2019. This includes folks who are enrolled in family plans but aren’t really paying for their own coverage. Another reliable source is the consultancy Midia Research, which updates its figures on a regular basis, both in terms of the overall number of subscribers worldwide and the proportion of each specific service.

Here’s how it’s broken down: If we utilize those percentages to determine approximate subscriber numbers, we get the following results: – Spotify has a user base of 155.8 million (although see the top of this article for a more recent official stat) – Apple Music has 77.9 million subscribers; Amazon Music has 63.3 million subscribers.

Is it possible that the app is merely the audience’s favorite? There are a lot of assumptions, but no clear solutions. Join us as we explore some Apple Music statistics and take a look at what the future holds for the music streaming industry.

1. In June 2020, Apple Music had 72 million subscribers.

(Data courtesy of Statista.) People who use Apple products are recognized for being loyal to the company, which has a lot to do with the growing number of people who subscribe to Apple Music. It will have 72 million users globally by the end of June 2020. That’s a 12 million increase over the same period the previous year. However, despite the fact that the app is a distant second to the Swedish business Spotify, it has had tremendous growth since its founding in 2015.

2. Apple Music had a $4.1 billion revenue in 2020.

(Image courtesy of BusinessOfApps) The beginning of Apple Music’s history was marked by a difficulty. It was not an easy undertaking to overcome the 22 million customers that Spotify had already attracted to the service. Its only opportunity to succeed was to provide better terms and services. Apple began its voyage into the world of music streaming by acquiring Beats Electronics in 2011. And the company’s efforts were immediately rewarded. Apple Music’s revenue is expected to reach $4.1 billion in 2020, accounting for 7.6 percent of the company’s overall revenue.

3. In 2020, Apple Music was available in 167 countries.

(Image courtesy of Apple) Apple Music has a large amount of coverage. In the year 2020 alone, it will have added 52 more countries to its roster. The question is, what does this signify for the company? Of course, this increases the number of prospective subscribers in the company’s pool. However, it also means that the demographics of theApple Music audience are incredibly diverse. In order to reach such a wide range of customers, how does the organization manage to accomplish so? For starters, it offers a diverse selection of musical genres and songs.

4. Apple Music has more than 75 million songs.

(Image courtesy of DigitalTrends.) What is the total number of songs available on Apple Music? By 2021, they will have reached a total of 75 million people. A slew of new tracks have been grabbed by Apple as a result of exclusive partnerships with prominent performers.

5. Apple Music was first launched on Android in 2015.

(Image courtesy of TheVerge) Apple and Android lovers are at odds with one another. At the very least, this is the general consensus. We believe we have discovered the most amusing truth regarding Apple Music out of all the others! The Apple Music application for Android was the world’s first ever to be released. Quite the arrogance, don’t you think? It was still necessary to sign in using an Apple ID even though certain design changes had been made to the application.

Apple Music Most Listened To

Tell me what music you like to listen to so that I can figure out who you are. Or was it something quite different? Some people only listen to music while they are out and about. Others choose not to remove their headphones at all. Furthermore, they all have diverse musical preferences. In spite of this, there are some genres and performers that are unquestionably winners. Let’s take a look at some Apple Music use data to discover what consumers are most interested in.

6. Every time someone listens to a song for at least 30 seconds, Apple Music counts it as a play.

Describe your listening habits so that I can figure out who you really are. Maybe something else happened. A small percentage of the population only listens to music when they are out socializing.

A few people refuse to take their headphones off at all. As for their musical preferences, they are all rather diverse. Nonetheless, there are some genres and musicians that are unquestionably victors in this competition. See what people are listening to the most by looking at someApple Music data.

7. 2020 streaming revenues accounted for over 62% of the total global recorded music revenue.

(Data courtesy of Statista.) Music streaming sales are expected to reach $13.4 billion in 2020. This figure is more than four times greater than the previous year’s figure. And, as we will explore more below in the list of figures, Apple Musicis responsible for a significant chunk of this.

8. Users listened to Drake’s Scorpion 170 million times on the day of its release in 2018.

(Image courtesy of Mashable) What criteria do we use to decide whether a song or an artist is a success? Is it only based on the amount of times it has been played? Despite the fact that the overall picture is a little more complicated, Apple Music’s worldwide charts and statistics disclose a great deal about user preferences. Think about Drake’s latest album, Scorpion, which was released in 2018. It was one of the most popular albums on Apple Music, and it was streamed 170 million times on the day of its debut.

9. The most popular genres on Apple Music in 2019 were hip hop and pop.

(Image courtesy of Soda) Some of the most streamed songs on Apple Music that year included Travis Scott’s “Highest in the Room,” Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me,” and Lil Baby’s “Woah.” Unfortunately, at the time of writing, Apple Music’s genre data for 2021 had not yet been revealed.

Apple Music vs Spotify

No corporation wants to be the one that comes in second. Apple Music and Spotify are tied for first place in the music streaming sector, with Apple Music claiming the top spot on a percentage basis. While Apple Music is the most popular streaming service in the United States, Spotify is the most popular internationally. Is Spotify a superior music streaming service than Apple Music? Is it because they’ve been in the game for a longer period of time?

10. Apple Music was holding 16% of the global music streaming market in Q1 2021.

(Image courtesy of MidiaResearch) During the previous decade, the streaming music business has experienced explosive expansion. Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tencent, and Google are all engaged in a perpetual competition for the attention of their respective consumers. Apple Music has a market share of 16 percent, placing it as the runner-up behind Spotify, which has a market share of 32 percent.

11. Apple Music comes with high-resolution streaming.

(Image courtesy of SoundGuys) It might be difficult to decide on a monthly membership for music streaming services. The majority of users are forced to stick with a single platform. The question remains, which is better: Apple Music or Spotify? The changes between the two applications are minor, which makes choosing between them much more difficult. The quality of the sound, on the other hand, may be the deciding factor for those who are serious music enthusiasts. Apple Music, which launched in November 2021, elevated the streaming experience to a whole new level.

12. Apple Music costs $5 for students and $15 for a family plan.

(Image courtesy of Spotify.) In theApple Music versus Spotify Premiumbattle, pricing is only a minor factor to consider. Still, let’s take a look at what they have to offer. Both programs provide three months of free service and charge $4.99 for student accounts and $9.99 for individual accounts after that period expires.

The most significant difference is the cost of the family plan. Apple Music has a monthly subscription fee of $14.99, whereas Spotify charges a fee of $15.99. Spotify, on the other hand, provides a dual bundle, which allows it to regain its competitive advantage.

13. 745 million people have an Apple subscription.

(Image courtesy of Digital Music News) Apple revealed that it has a total of 745 million paid members across all of its platforms. Just how many of them have a paid membership to Apple Music? Because the corporation has not revealed its subscriber total since 2019, when it had 60 million paying members, this is a serious problem.

With the song “Easy on Me,” from her newest album, “30,” she managed to win over the crowd. According to Apple Music statistics, she, on the other hand, never really left the hearts of her fans behind. The likes of “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You,” two of her earlier hits, are still in the top 200 music on the site.

As seen by the data, subscribers were evenly spread over a wide range of age groups. The age categories of 25-34 and 55+ each accounted for 23% of the total user population. YouTube reports having 50 million Premium and Music subscribers

This is a significant increase from the 30 million subscribers that Google claimed in December 2020. YouTube Music and YouTube Premium are now available to 50 million individuals who have subscribed or are trying them out, according to Google. This appears to represent a continuing trend in customers seeking to upgrade from the free versions of YouTube and YouTube Music, despite the fact that other providers are entering the market. Because Google does not provide any additional breakdown of that 50 million figure, we have no way of knowing how many people are subscribers to YouTube Music or YouTube Premium, or how many individuals are taking advantage of the services’ free one-month trial.

  1. Variety also looked at Google’s figures in comparison to those of other streaming providers.
  2. (The most recent official announcement came in June 2019, when Apple announced that its service had reached 60 million members.) YouTube Music Premium, which costs $9.99 a month, allows users to listen to and download music without being interrupted by advertisements.
  3. While using another app or while their phone is locked, premium customers may also have videos play in the background while they are not using it.
  4. Neither Google nor the music streaming service have commented on the reason for the 20 million-subscriber spike, but it’s worth remembering that the previous year’s total was released just around the time that Google was closing down its Play Music service.
  5. It’s difficult to predict what this implies for Google without knowing the specifics of the breakup.
  6. It’s evident that more people are at the very least interested in YouTube’s premium products when you step back and look at the data.

While there have been numerous (and, to be fair, well-founded) concerns about the glut of video and music streaming services, it appears that there is still opportunity for growth, if Google is any indication of what is possible.

Spotify now has 165 million paid subscribers, likely topping Apple and Amazon Music combined

Spotify has revealed its financial figures for the second quarter of fiscal year 2021, and the firm appears to have performed admirably throughout the period. The most significant development was the announcement that Spotify now has 165 million paying customers. This is an increase of 7 million members from the previous quarter and surpasses the 60 million Apple Music subscribers that the firm previously reported having in 2019 as well as the 55 million subscribers that Amazon Music claimed having in 2020, according to the company.

Regardless of how you look at it, even if Apple and Amazon both have 80 million customers by now, that’s still fewer than Spotify’s paid subscribers, according to the numbers.

The total income came to €2.33 billion, which is around $2.75 billion.

Spotify expects to have 170 million to 174 million paid members by the end of Q3 2021 and 177 million to 181 million paid customers by the end of Q4 2021, according to its prediction.

Apple Music has reportedly passed Spotify in paid subscribers in the US

Spotify has revealed its financial statistics for the second quarter of fiscal year 2021, and the firm appears to have performed admirably throughout the period under discussion. Spotify stated that it now has 165 million paying customers, which was the most significant piece of news this week. This is an increase of 7 million members from the previous quarter and surpasses the 60 million Apple Music subscribers the firm last claimed having in 2019 as well as the 55 million subscribers Amazon Music reported having in 2020, according to data from the company.

To be sure, Apple and Amazon each have 80 million customers by now, but that’s still fewer than the total number of paying Spotify users, no matter which way you look at it.

€2.33 billion (about $2.75 billion) was the total amount of revenue generated.

Spotify expects to have 170 million to 174 million paid members by the end of Q3 2021 and 177 million to 181 million paid customers by the end of Q4 2021, according to their prediction.

Spotify paying subscribers hit 158M as Apple remains quiet on Apple Music subs

According to the firm, the number of paying Spotify customers reached 158 million in the first quarter of this year.

It goes on to say that North America was the company’s most successful market. Apple has been mum regarding the number of paying subscribers to itsApple Music service, although there are likely a few of reasons for this omission.

Spotify paying subscribers

The statement was made by the corporation in a letter to its shareholders. Premium Subscribers increased by 21% year on year to 158 million in the third quarter, exceeding the upper end of our target range for the period. In the first quarter, we added approximately 4 million subscribers, which resulted in significant double-digit year-over-year growth across all markets and was particularly impressive when compared to a difficult promotional comparison from the same quarter last year. The outperformance of our subscribers was quite widespread and was highlighted by North America, where we had greater than expected performance of TrialsCampaigns and faster than planned growth in our Standard package, both of which exceeded our expectations.

In particular, we are thrilled with the new market contributions, with South Korea serving as the primary contributor.

The acceptance of our higher retention solutions, such as Family Plan, as well as growth in high retention regions, continue to be the primary drivers of our year-over-year increase.

Although the firm just announced price hikes, it expects to attract 4-8 million new paying customers, bringing the total number of users to 162-166 million, according to its prediction.

What about Apple Music?

Apple has always published its paid subscriber figures after it reaches the 10 million mark. However, the most recent such update occurred way back in June 2019, when it reached 60 million views. The fact that the corporation hasn’t reached 70 million customers or more by now seems unfathomable, and the smart money is on Apple remaining quiet not out of fear of shame, but because it wants to keep the figure to itself for commercial reasons. In particular, with the introduction of theApple Onesubscription package, it is expected that a considerable number of previous Apple Music users will have converted to this service.

Individuals (with 50GB storage) pay $14.95 per month, while families (with 100GB storage) pay $19.95 per month (with 200GB storage).

This increases the total amount of iCloud storage available to your family to 2TB. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has approved the use of auto affiliate links that generate money. More. More Apple news may be found on 9to5Mac’s YouTube channel:

Apple Music and Spotify cost the same (mostly)

Both Spotify and Apple Music provide a free three-month trial period for their premium services, which are ordinarily priced at $10 (£10, AU$12) per month in the United States. Students will pay $5, while a family plan with Apple Music will cost $15, and a Spotify family subscription would cost $16. You may stream any song from the collection on demand, as well as listen to music while not connected to the internet. Spotify is providing three months of its premium version for free to new subscribers until September 30, 2021, while Apple Music is offering six months of its premium version for free to new users through Best Buy until September 30, 2021.

With the exception of the interruptions, there are some albums and playlists that require you to listen in shuffle mode rather than sequential play, and there is a restriction of six skips per hour.

Spotify now provides a Premium Duo membership for $13 (£13, AU$16) that allows two users to share a single account and share the same location.

Does Apple Music or Spotify have better streaming quality?

Spotify makes use of the Ogg Vorbis or AAC audio format. On mobile, you may select the bit rate you want to stream at, in increments of up to 320Kbps, which is particularly useful if you’re concerned about using up too much mobile data allowance. For those who prefer to listen via the online player, Spotify streams in AAC at 128Kbps for free users and 256Kbps for premium customers. Apple Music transmits AAC files at a bitrate of 256 kbps, and certain songs now have lossless and spatial audio.

Spotify will soon offer a HiFi subscription for lossless audio, which will be available later in 2021.

You can also customize the equalization in both apps to fit your tastes, albeit Apple Music’s equalizer is located outside of the app in the Settings app.

Apple Music has more tracks, Spotify has podcasts

Spotify claims to have a collection of more than 70 million songs, whilst Apple Music claims to have a repertoire of more than 75 million songs. Both services provide early access to select albums from time to time, with Apple Music also providing exclusives for certain music videos from time to time. If you enable iCloud Music Library inside Apple Music, you will be able to access your personal music library from any of your devices (from the PC to the phone). It “matches” songs in your library with those in the iTunes catalog, or uploads them if the song isn’t already in the iTunes catalog, so you can listen to your music from any location where you have an Apple ID.

It should be noted that iTunes Match is also available for $25 per year even if you do not have an Apple Music subscription.

Spotify is the only provider that allows you to listen to podcasts directly from the app.

Apple Music is the winner since it allows you to integrate your own collection, while Spotify has the advantage in terms of podcasts.

Is Apple Music or Spotify easier to use?

Apple Music’s mobile interface is a crisp white, but Spotify’s interface is a dark black throughout all of its apps. (If you activate dark mode on your iOS device, Apple Music will also go to dark mode.) Both applications are rather simple to use, with the essential tabs (radio, search, your library, and so on) conveniently located at the bottom of the user interface. Both allow you to view lyrics on the screen if they are available for the songs you are listening to. However, only Apple Music allows you to search for songs by inputting a stream of lyrics in order to identify songs whose names you don’t know.

Spotify customers may also take use of a similar option provided by Waze.

Apple Music for Android, in addition to supporting CarPlay, also supports Android Auto, allowing you to control playing through the vehicle’s infotainment system. Winner:Draw From CNET’s mobile specialists, learn about the newest news and top reviews in smartphones and wireless service providers.

Spotify lets you listen in more places, Apple Music is best for Siri

Apple Music and Spotify are both accessible for download on iOS and Android devices. Both services provide desktop applications for Windows and Mac, so you are not confined to listening on your mobile device. Spotify Connect allows you to cast your music to compatible devices and listen on AirPlay speakers at the same time (on iOS only). CNET image courtesy of Celso Bulgatti You may also listen to music on your browser: Spotify can be found at, and Apple Music can be found at, among other places.

With smart speakers, Apple Music with Siri voice control on Apple’s HomePod is now compatible with Amazon’s whole range of Echo smart speakers through the Alexa App, and the Alexa App is now compatible with Google Home smart speakers (US only).

Spotify is also accessible on Google smart speakers and Amazon Alexa devices in addition to the latter two.

Spotify is also accessible on a variety of other devices, such as the Xbox and the PlayStation.

Music discovery tools excel on Spotify and Apple Music

Beats1 Radio is a music streaming service. Featured image courtesy of Lexy Savvides/CNET One of the most compelling reasons to subscribe to a streaming service is the opportunity to discover new music. You will be exposed to new music on both Spotify and Apple Music depending on the music that you already enjoy. Playlists like Discover Weekly and Release Radar, which are automatically updated with new music each week, are examples of the custom playlists on Spotify. Apple Music features a number of playlists that are comparable, including New Music Mix.

Once you begin to pay closer attention, each of your friends and family members will have a clearer image of your likes and dislikes, allowing them to personalize suggestions even further.

As an added bonus, Apple Music also includes a separate channel called Beats1 Radio, which is selected and presented by actual DJs, allowing you to listen to it in real time just as you would a typical radio station.

Apple Music’s human-curated radio channel, on the other hand, frequently finds new or previously unheard tunes that are also appealing. Spotify wins for playlists, and Apple Music wins for radio listeners.

Social sharing is a win for Apple Music

Sharing playlists is made possible by scanning Spotify codes with a smartphone’s camera. Featured image courtesy of Lexy Savvides/CNET Using both platforms, you can keep up with your favorite artists’ updates and new releases by following them on their social media accounts. You may also follow people you know. On the desktop version of Spotify, you can see what music your friends are now listening to in real time (if they agree to share this information). Spotify Codes are a convenient way to share music, albums, and playlists with your friends on Spotify.

It appears that many prominent performers are more active in providing updates on Apple Music than they are on Spotify, and it is also simpler to access such content than it is on Spotify.

If you want to follow someone on Apple Music, you must already have their contact information in your contacts list (or on Facebook) since it is much easier to access their profile on Apple Music than it is on Spotify.

Apple Music was named the winner.

Is Apple Music or Spotify right for you?

Spotify is the apparent victor if you’re looking for a free service. If, on the other hand, you are wanting to pay for a service, your decision may be a little more difficult. Apple Music is compatible with a wide range of other Apple devices. Apple Music, for example, is the sole option if you want voice control on your HomePod or other Apple devices. In contrast, Spotify offers higher cross-compatibility across a wider range of devices, ranging from gaming consoles to smart speakers, and is thus more popular.

Spotify, for our money, does a better job of discovering and adapting playlists and suggestions to our tastes through its personalized playlists and discovery tools than other music streaming services.

There are a variety of streaming music services available, and Spotify and Apple Music aren’t the only ones available.
