Spotify

When it comes to Spotify’s collaborative playlists, you have complete control over who has access to your playlists. The only method for your friends to begin adding music to your playlist is if they have been provided with the web link of your playlist on your computer. In order to provide some responsibility for what is contributed, the username of the person who adds whatever music is shown for you to see.

Follow these steps to get started:

  • Create a conventional playlist first, and then right-click its title in the main sidebar to bring up a pop-up menu, from which you can selectCollaborative Playlist. (If everything goes as planned, the music note will change from white to green and a small dot should appear next to it.)
  • To share access with anybody you wish to collaborate with, use the share option from the same right-click menu.

Apple Music

  • When you first start the app, go to the bottom of the screen and hit on My Music. You’ll see thumbnails for the Playlists that have been recently added. Select theNewbutton in the upper right corner of the screen to begin creating a new playlist.

Now that you’ve made a new playlist on Apple Music, there are two options to add songs to the playlist.

First, open the new playlist and click on the green plus button to begin adding the songs you want to this freshly made playlist. Second, open the new playlist and click on the green plus button to begin adding the songs you want. Choose tracks first, then press the three-dot symbol to the right of the song you want to bring up a new list. Option two: SelectAdd to a Playlist. from the drop-down menu. Then select the playlist that you just created.

After you’ve added the songs you want to this playlist, it’s time to share it.

  • When you are viewing a playlist that you wish to share, click the three-dot symbol in the upper right corner of the screen. A list will appear
  • SelectShare Playlist from the list. After that, you have complete freedom to pick which platform or which individual you wish to share your playlist with. (You can communicate with me by message, e-mail, Twitter, and other means.)

Collaborating with your friends to create the best playlist is a great way to keep everyone up to speed on the latest music releases. You don’t want that one person who has horrible taste in music to ruin all of your hard work by ruining everything. Apart from that, you can do whatever you want. We hope that this post was useful in guiding you through the process of making your own collaborative playlists.

10 Features Apple Needs to Add to the Apple Music iPhone App

Despite the fact that Apple Music is extremely popular, the service’s native iPhone app could stand to benefit from a slew of enhancements to make it more user pleasant. When Apple Music first became available, the company opted to include it in the basic Music app for iPhones. This resulted in a user experience that was similar to that of iTunes, and the less we talk about it the better.

It’s a good time to make a wish list for Apple Music upgrades, especially with WWDC 2021 just around the corner. It’s probably a good idea to concentrate on the iPhone app because it’s where the vast majority of Apple Music users access the service.

1. Snappy User Experience

Apple Music is simply unresponsive anywhere you try to access it. When you press any of the tabs on the Music app on the iPhone, you’ll find that it takes a second or two to load, even on very fast internet connections. This is true even when the iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi. This is most likely owing to the large number of high-resolution assets that take a long time to load, or it might be due to bloated code. I’d much appreciate it if Apple spent some time determining what is causing the slowdown in the Music app and then repaired it.

2. Offline Time-Synced Lyrics

The addition of time-synchronized lyrics greatly enhances the Apple Music experience. I like singing along with our favorite songs because of this function, however for some reason, this feature does not work when the computer is not connected to the internet. It is possible to listen to downloaded music when traveling on a plane or in an area with weak network service, but you will not be able to see or hear the lyrics. It would be fantastic if you could download time-synchronized lyrics together with tracks in order to have an awesome offline music experience while listening to music.

3. Search Within Playlists and Albums

Despite the fact that Apple Music is built on playlists and albums, there is currently no method to search for particular songs inside a playlist or album. Long playlists with more than 100 songs are something I listen to on a regular basis, and it’s a major headache to search for a single song among these tracks. Additionally, if you want to jump to a certain song in a 40-song collection CD, you will still have to manually search for that song. A simple solution would be to allow you to slide down inside any playlist to expose a search bar, as suggested by Apple.

However, as things stand, if you make a playlist and share it with someone, there is currently no method for them to add music to the playlist.

Adding the ability to enable particular persons to upload music and adding support for automated playlist updates are both simple solutions that Apple can implement.

5. Smart Playlists

If you could construct smart playlists by just picking specific factors such as the release year, genre, and amount of times you’ve played a certain song, wouldn’t that be fantastic? This functionality is currently supported by a number of third-party Apple Music applications, such as Soor($6.99), so there’s no reason why Apple couldn’t include it as well. While we’re on the subject, Apple Music sorely needs a more user-friendly interface for creating bigger playlists. The Soor app allowed me to quickly and easily construct a 1,200-song playlist for a road trip in under 15 minutes, and it’s past time for Apple to add support for comparable capabilities to the Music app as well.

For the time being, much of this procedure is done manually in the standard Music application. For example, you must search for each album or playlist that you wish to include in your mega-playlist before it can be added.

6. Better Management of Offline Songs

Apple Music’s offline functionality is in serious need of improvement. First and foremost, all of your offline tracks are hidden under the Library tab of the user interface. To find your music, you must first click on the Downloaded option. Ideally, you should be able to personalize the home screen such that it only displays songs that are currently unavailable. Another significant issue is that downloaded music are automatically deleted from your iPhone if you sign out of your Apple ID. However, although this is understandable, the downside is that you will have to manually download all of your songs again after signing back in or if you sign in to your Apple ID on a new iPhone.

7. Better Recommendation Algorithms

Apple Music’s playlists are quite carefully curated, and the app has gotten fairly adept at surfacing playlists that are relevant to your interests. However, I believe that it could provide more music recommendations based on my own preferences. For example, I enjoy listening to jazz once in a while, but not frequently enough to have tracks from that genre recommended to me on Apple Music. The ability for Apple Music to recognize these signals from my listening history and propose additional Jazz or comparable genres would be fantastic.

8. Improved iMessage App for Apple Music

Apple Music’s iMessage app gives the appearance of being something that the firm has just forgotten about. It has never been updated and continues to display the same information that it did when it was first released: music you have recently listened to. Searching for music on Apple Music should be possible, as should the ability to share such tunes with our friends. Unfortunately, there is no search bar in the iMessage app, thus you must share tracks using the share sheet in the Music app. This is not ideal.

9. Better Lyrics Sharing

Apple Music now allows you to share time-synchronized lyrics with others (just tap and hold any verse to get started). However, there are still a few songs that do not contain lyrics that are timed to the music. You will not be able to pick or copy these lyrics, and your best option is to snap screenshots of them in order to distribute them. Apple might definitely benefit from including a feature that allows users to choose and share verses from these lyrics.

10. Advanced Streaming Stats

Apps such as PlayTally($1.99) provide you with some useful streaming statistics, such as the number of songs played each day and the number of hours of music listened to, among other things. These applications can also utilize this information to provide music recommendations, which is something Apple Music should definitely look into.

Supercharge Apple Music

If you’re fed up with waiting for Apple to include these capabilities into Apple Music, you may consider using a third-party program such as Cs Music Player ($2.99), which provides similar functionality. Many of the features in these applications are ones that we’ve been hoping for. In order to allow Apple Music to develop its app independently of the operating system, Apple should divorce Apple Music upgrades from operating system changes. We shouldn’t have to wait for major iOS updates in order to get fundamental functionalities like lyric sharing and song sharing.

On the iPhone, there are seven other apps that might improve your Apple Music experience.
