How to Cancel Apple Music 1 Month Free Trial Subscription

iOS, the operating system for mobile devices and tablets developed by Apple, is the smoothest and most helpful. It was only recently that Apple introduced a new music streaming service called Apple Music. Apple Music is a premium music streaming service that provides Apple with a significant marketing edge. Nowadays, people are glued to music, and Apple’s Music app has attracted 11 million users in only one month, demonstrating the popularity of the medium. That merely indicates the kind of popularity that Apple Music has begun to enjoy in recent months.

  • Another reason for Apple’s rapid growth is that the company has gained more than 11 million users from all around the world in less than a month.
  • Individual and family subscriptions are the two most common forms of subscriptions.
  • Individual plan customers will be required to pay $9.99 per month after the trial time ends, while Family membership account holders will be required to pay $14.99 per month after the trial period ends.
  • However, if you decide that Apple Music is not for you and that you are content with the default music app and music, the following are a few simple steps that will allow you to cancel your Apple Music 1 month free trial membership.

If you have Auto Renewal enabled, Apple will continue to take money from your credit card that is associated to your Apple ID until you turn it off. On the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, as well as on the Mac and PC, you may turn off Auto Renewal.

After that, you will be presented with a number of options, including the ability to adjust the country, ratings, and family sharing settings.

  1. Apple Music Membership will be located under the Subscriptionsmenu.

How to Cancel Apple Music

When the free trial period for Apple Music expires, subscribers will be required to pay a monthly membership price. This article will walk you through the process of canceling your Apple Music membership.

How to Cancel Apple Music

Apple Music’s user interface is a little nefarious in its design. It is not as simple as it appears to be to cancel a reservation. Users have become accustomed to looking for the account screen. This appears to be a widely acknowledged practice when it comes to the management of subscriptions. Apple hides this choice under the heading “View Apple ID,” apparently in an effort to make the procedure more difficult to understand. Until now, I had no idea that you could cancel your membership from within the Music app.

  • This method works for any subscription, including Apple Music, HBO NOW, and Showtime.
  • The Account screen will display.
  • You must authenticate with the iTunes Store by entering your username and password.
  • Select Manage from the Subscriptions drop-down menu.
  • Select Your Membership from the drop-down menu.
  • Turn off the Automatic Renewal switch if it is turned on.
  • If your Apple Music membership is cancelled, the Apple Music Membership screen will appear, indicating that your subscription has been terminated.

Your free trial will expire at 12:00 a.m.

Even after your trial period has ended, you can continue to use the Music app.

The need to subscribe to Apple Music will be repeatedly pressed upon you.

You may also check to see if Apple Music has been canceled by selecting the user symbol in the upper left corner and reading the Account page that appears.

You may also wish to delete any Apple Music tracks or albums that you have downloaded because they will no longer be able to be played.

Hide Apple Music by navigating to SettingsMusic and selecting Show Apple Music from the drop-down menu that appears.

There will only be possibilities for iTunes purchases and radio stations.

You may erase these albums by heading to SettingsMusic and turning off the iCloud Music Library feature under iCloud Music Library.

Apple Music tracks will be removed if you confirm the removal.

To make changes, click the Edit button in the upper right corner. You have the option of deleting All Songs or deleting specific artists or albums.

Forgot to Cancel Apple Music?

Apple Music members sometimes overlook the option to turn off automatic renewals or are just unaware of the options. Some users may have been unaware that Apple will begin charging you after the trial period has expired. After all, while the transaction is done through iTunes, you never entered your credit card information into the system. Apple will normally send an email, but it is not guaranteed that everyone will get it. In the event that you have been charged for an Apple Music membership that you did not want, you may be eligible for a refund.

  • Then, choose or touch on Contact Apple Support from the menu bar.
  • Choose “iTunes Store” from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose “iTunes Store account billing” from the drop-down menu.
  • Select the most appropriate method of communicating with Apple.
  • Apple has offered some reimbursements to customers for the first month of Apple Music billing.
  • You can also submit a claim with your credit card provider, but this is not something I would advocate in this situation.
  • They have the ability to disable your Apple ID, which would result in your expulsion from the Apple ecosystem.

Why I Cancelled Apple Music

I was overjoyed when the announcement of Apple Music was made. As soon as the rumors began to circulate, I began to make use of Spotify’s free service. It was enjoyable, and I was astonished by the amount of music available. My musical preferences are somewhat distinctive. Art rock, severe technical metal, avant-garde jazz, fusion, thrash, classical, post-punk, and progressive rock are some of my favorite musical genres. Some of this music is tough to come by on iTunes or on CD, for example. I was under the impression that music subscription services exclusively provided Top 40 pop music.

I considered Apple Music as a possible alternative to Spotify that would be even better.

How to get Apple Music for free

In addition to using Apple products, you can use Apple Music on PCs, Android devices, Sonos speakers, Amazon Edge, PlayStation 5, and other devices. Apple Music is a music streaming service that gives you access to more than 90 million tracks and playlists that have been carefully curated by music experts.

In addition to the usual Apple Music membership tiers, there is a more affordable Apple Music Voice Plan that costs half the price of the standard Apple Music subscription tier. Students can also take advantage of a discounted rate.

  • Among the plans available are Apple Music Voice Plan (£4.99/$4.99 a month), Apple Music Student Plan (£4.99/$4.99 a month), Apple Music Individual Plan (£9.99/$9.99 a month), Apple Music Family Plan (£14.99/$14.99 a month), Apple One (from $14.95/$14.99 a month) and Apple TV+ (from $14.95/$14.99 a month). However, you will not be required to pay a large sum of money. In the event that you have never used the service before, Apple provides a variety of trial options, including up to six months free. Apple has even offered free trials to customers who have fallen behind on their payments in the past. In this post, you’ll learn about the several Apple Music trials that are available, as well as how to download Apple Music for free right now. Additionally, if you are a student, you may take advantage of a 50% discount on Apple Music.

Is there a free Apple Music?

Apple Music is available for free for a short time only, and the business provides a number of different trial periods for the service. It is likely that you were expecting that Apple will give a free Apple Music tier, similar to the one offered by Spotify, which is available for free with advertisements. Apple, on the other hand, announced a more affordable Apple Songs alternative in December 2021, which provides access to all of the music in the original Apple Music for half the price (£4.99/$4.99 a month) of the original Apple Music.

How to get an Apple Music free trial

To test out Apple Music if you’ve never done so before, you’ll be able to enjoy three months completely free of charge, with absolutely no strings attached and no questions asked. If you want to do so, go to Apple’s website by clicking here and selecting ‘Free Trial’ in the upper right corner, or ‘Try it free for three months’ on the appropriate plan. There are four different options to choose from: Voice, Student, Individual, and Family plans. Each is available as a monthly membership or an annual subscription (which costs £99/$99 per year, or £8.25/$8.25 per month).

  1. It is simple to accomplish this.
  2. Select Subscriptions from the drop-down menu, then select the subscription you wish to cancel.

How to get Apple Music free for 6 months

Apple is providing new Apple Music subscribers who own AirPods, a HomePod mini, or Beats headphones with six months of free service. The following devices are eligible for reimbursement:

  • AirPods Pro
  • AirPods (2nd generation and 3rd generation)
  • AirPods Max
  • HomePod
  • HomePod mini
  • Beats Fit Pro
  • Beats Studio Buds
  • Powerbeats
  • Powerbeats Pro
  • Beats Solo Pro
  • AirPods (2nd generation and 3rd generation

There is no requirement to make a purchase, so if you currently possess one of these qualifying devices, you are still eligible – as long as you have not already subscribed to the service. Anyone with an existing qualified device had 90 days from the date of their device’s upgrade to iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 to redeem the free six month trial, which sadly means that if they updated on September 21, they were out of luck because the 90-day term had expired. If you have recently purchased one of the goods listed above, you will be eligible for the free six-month trial; however, you must take advantage of the offer within 90 days after first connecting a new device.

Apple isn’t the only company giving a free six-month trial of Apple Music; other companies are as well.

Best Buy is offering a six-month free trial in the United States. In the United Kingdom, EE provides new and existing users with six months of Apple Music. To take advantage of the Best Buy offer, please visit this page. You can get EE’s bargain right here.

How to get Apple Music free for 5 months

There is another option to acquire a longer Apple Music trial period, and it does not need you to make any purchases. Download Shazam onto your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and use the app to identify a song that is currently playing in your environment. When you Shazam a music, a button will appear, asking you to open the song on your browser. If you go to Apple Music and click on the “Get Five Free Months” button, you will receive the offer. If you have never used Apple Music before, you will at the very least be eligible for the free five-month membership offer.

When this plan was debuted, we discovered that we were unable to take advantage of the offer, which we believe was due to the fact that we had previously subscribed and then discontinued our subscription.

Shazam has been owned by Apple for quite some time, which explains why it is only available as part of an Apple Music membership plan.

How to get another Apple Music trial

If you follow the same path as the Shazam example above, you may discover that you qualify for an additional two months after having already used up your three-month qualifying period. What if you’ve already used up all of your trial time, however? We’ve seen Apple give lapsed members the option to obtain three months of Apple Music for the price of one – so £9.99/$9.99 for three months – if they sign up for the service. However, it does not look as though the firm is currently conducting that campaign.

  • To acquire an extra three months, there is a trick: start using Family Sharing via another user and switch to the Apple Music Family Sharing plan once three months have passed.
  • After that, you’ll be able to take advantage of an additional three months of free service.
  • A separate article has further information about Family Sharing, including how to set it up on a computer.

You may discover, as in the Shazam example above, that you qualify for an additional two months after having already used up your first three months of eligibility. What do you do if you have exhausted your trial period? We’ve seen Apple give lapsed members the ability to get three months of Apple Music for the price of one – so £9.99/$9.99 for three months – as a re-engagement incentive. At the moment, though, it does not appear that the firm is offering that promotion. In most cases, though, once you’ve finished your three (or more) month trial, you won’t be able to receive another three months free using the same manner again for at least a year.

It’s possible that another member of your family will join up for the free trial of the Apple Music Family Sharing plan and then share their account information with you if you’re happy to utilize Family Sharing.

The free trial is really available for up to six individuals, so you may share it with other members of your household.

A second article has further information about Family Sharing, including how to configure it. Is it worth your time to give Apple Music a shot? See our comparison of Apple Music vs Spotify. Apple’s website has more information regarding Apple Music.

r/AppleMusic – Canceled Apple Music subscription before trial ends and lost access to Apple Music immediately

Greetings to everyone. I’m currently having a really negative experience with Apple Music’s free trial membership. The Apple Music 3-month trial was just over, and in order to avoid being charged at the conclusion of that term, I canceled the subscriptions, expecting to continue to use the service for the remaining three months of my three-month trial period. To my surprise, I lost instant access to Apple Music after canceling, and after contacting Apple Support, they refused to refund me for the unused portion of my trial period, despite the fact that I spoke with a Senior Apple Advisor called Gorna over the phone.

The fact that Gorna even suggested that I create a new apple ID and test the free Apple Music on another apple device in order to take advantage of the 3-month free trial makes me wonder if she is trying to convince me that I should abuse the loophole and enjoy Apple Music for free indefinitely.
